| On the 26th and 27th July, I had the
privilege of demonstrating Ikebana to visitors to the National Railway Museum's
Japan week. This was the third year the Museum has held this event celebrating
the gift of a Shinkansen (the train in the photo) from Japan. |
I gave 4 demonstrations each day right next to Shinkansen.
We think about 200 people watched my demonstrations and I was delighted to see
some people came back several times. |
In between Ikebana demonstrations I
displayed some arrangements nearby and had the opportunity to talk to many
people about Ikebana.
| As always, people of all ages, both men and women were very
interested to learn more about Ikebana. |

There were many other Japan related activities during the event.
The NRM description of the event sums it up perfectly...... |

I must say that the Museum is a
fascinating place.
Keith particularly enjoyed looking around the many exhibits, which include
dozens of real steam engines. I think he wanted a train set again! |
