| I was invited to participate in the
Warrington Borough Council sponsored Japanese cultural festival in June 2004.
Giving people the opportunity to try Ikebana for the first time is always a
great joy for me, so I was delighted to make the trip to Warrington. |

|
As part of the event, the organisers wanted to offer "have-a-go" activities,
where visitors could, literally, have a go at traditional Japanese arts
including Origami, Tea Ceremony, Mask Making and Ikebana.

 |
During the day I gave 3 have-a-go Ikebana workshops, using a
variety of flowers. As you can see from these few photos, the participants
displayed a mixture of fun and concentration in making their first arrangements. |

In the afternoon, a reporter from a
local radio station interviewed me and then wanted to create his own arrangement
and describe to his listeners what he was doing - live on air! I am not sure how
easy it would be to follow on the radio but it was great fun.

 |
| As always, people of all ages, both men and women were very
interested to learn more about Ikebana. And it is always great to see how
proud participants are of their first Ikebana creation. |
